Last Friday saw our lovely bunch of INKers have our annual bake-off. Our studio was transformed in to something that closely resembled the GBBO tent but emblazoned in green and white. Of course, it was all in aid of the world’s biggest coffee morning, the brain child of the amazing guys at Macmillan Cancer Support. Last year, Macmillan raised a huge £29.5 million, fingers crossed this year they smash this total.
The calm before the storm
All of the team donned their aprons, put their all in to their signature bakes and got the piping kits at the ready. Thursday evening consisted of nothing but rolled up sleeves, flour, chocolate and mixing power! And every single team member really pulled it out the bag…….
We were overwhelmed with the effort everyone put in and the sheer amount of cakey, bakey goodness that flooded the studio. At first, we didn’t think all the cake would get eaten, but how wrong we were! We had some fun and games along the way with Nathan winning the ‘Guess the height of the cake’ game and everyone voting for the coveted award of ‘Star Baker’. Taking the (extremely well deserved) award was Mudassar our newest developer. He produced the most divine lime and coconut cake! There are no words to describe how utterly scrumptious it was – I’m sure it’s obvious but this cake really didn’t last long at all!
All in all, we had a lovely day fundraising for such a worthy cause – the full stomachs and happy people were just a bonus.
