The highly anticipated Instagram Shopping feature has launched in the UK, US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Brazil.
The new feature is a dream come true for brands and retailers with strong e-commerce footholds, enabling them to ‘tag’ their products in their imagery. The tags act as links so the consumer can click right through from the Instagram post to the product page online where they can complete a purchase.
There are some requirements though to be able to make full use of the Instagram Shopping feature…
- Your Instagram profile must be a business profile
- You must sell physical goods
- You need to have a Facebook Product Catalogue set up
Once you meet these requirements, Instagram will review your account before granting you access to the feature, this could take a couple of days.
